The Christopher Family Foundation (CFF) was created in 1997 by Jay W. and Doris K. Christopher, and is an outgrowth of The Pampered Chef, a business they founded in their home in 1980.
Shaping a Framework for Future Giving
The Foundation has expressed its generosity over the past twenty-seven years largely through responsive giving—addressing the requests of community-based nonprofits and faith-based organizations.
In 2018, CFF embarked upon a strategic planning initiative that allowed the Christopher family and Foundation leadership to evaluate its grantmaking history, generate opportunities for further learning and growth, and identify the shared values that will influence its philanthropy for years to come. Family members were deeply engaged in this process, shaping a framework for future giving. This strategic framework includes a clearly defined mission statement followed by focused areas of interest and different strategies to address those areas.
Moving Forward
In 2023, in anticipation of growth in assets and a decision to deepen CFF’s commitment to the Austin neighborhood, Foundation leadership underwent a strategic planning process to guide the Foundation’s continued evolution for the next five years. Current efforts include: streamlined application guidelines; partnership with other funders; and impact measurement efforts.
Vision: Strengthening Communities & Families
The mission of the Christopher Family Foundation is to support family well-being.
The Foundation views its work through two key lenses: the Christian perspective of its founders and principals, and an emphasis on access and equity.
We support family well-being by fostering access to:
Jobs that provide dignity
Entrepreneurship pathways that can build intergenerational stability
High-quality education for all
Healthy food
